Making A Difference
Petal Power (formerly, Flower Power Gives) has salvaged flowers for more than 20 organizations and passed along the bouquets to nearly 20 non-profits, which include nursing homes, shelters, psychiatric hospitals, veterans hospitals, Ronald McDonald House, transitional homes and low-income housing developments. In our first year, approximately $220,000 in flowers were salvaged and shared.
Petal Power provides non-profit organizations and others an opportunity to extend their giving beyond their formal fundraising events, out into the community where people need the validation, joy, and hope that flowers can bring. This philanthropic gesture gives our community’s most overlooked and unsung citizens the delight of a simple unexpected gift of happiness and beauty–flowers! .
Petal Power also affords mothers and daughters an opportunity to work together in service, hone their business and philanthropic skills, and cultivate a legacy of service and giving through the generations. We help share joy, bring smiles to our neighbors faces, and mitigate waste of a powerful natural resource.

The presentation took place at the Junior League, and the Elie family accepted the check on behalf of the organization. Thanks to the FPG friends who nominated us.
